Brad works extremely hard on his clients’ behalf so they can receive all their legal benefits and protections in the workplace. With each client, he applies the same work ethic that he has relied on his entire life. He uses the same determination and discipline that he relied on while serving as captain of the men’s soccer team at Clemson, attending a top-tier law school, and working at one of Ohio’s largest law firms.
Brad relies on those attributes now more than ever in serving his clients, as they need a strong advocate on their side. Employers, unfortunately, do not always treat their employees lawfully. Biases still exist, companies continue to try to cut costs at the employees’ expense, and laws are not followed due to their perceived inconveniences.
Brad assists employees with every aspect of their employment. He answers their questions, counseling them on their legal rights and advising them on how best to exercise those rights. He negotiates on their behalf, demanding that employers provide them proper pay, required leave, reasonable accommodations, and all other benefits required by law. He represents them in court and administrative proceedings, arguing on their behalf before judges and juries.
With each client, Brad follows several important principles. First, he listens and responds to them. Communication is key not only in understanding a client’s case, but in understanding the client’s goals. For a number of clients, Brad understands that they would prefer to resolve their issues outside of court.
Second, Brad brings a sense of urgency to each client’s case. Losing a job or benefit is not a mere inconvenience, but a life-altering experience. Accordingly, he aggressively pushes his clients’ cases forward to obtain a positive result for them as quickly as possible.
Third, he works hard to make his clients feel comfortable with the legal process. While negotiating and arguing in front of judges is where he spends his time, he understands that many people are intimidated by certain aspects of the legal process. To put his clients at ease in those situations, he spends time explaining and preparing them for what to expect.
Brad combines his work ethic with his extensive employment law experience to obtain positive results for his clients. Prior to starting Gibson Law, LLC, he spent many years advising employers on their employment policies and representing them in employment litigation, while working at a large Ohio law firm. That experience is invaluable to his clients today. By advising employers about their policies, he developed a deep understanding of the various employment laws. By negotiating on employers’ behalf and representing them in court, he learned the tactics they use to defend themselves during those proceedings.
